Sometimes a quote perfectly illuminates a character, situation, and/or theme in a completely different text, and I found that to be the case when making these icons. They would be meaningless without the quotes, and I'm always delighted when I discover this kind of convergence.
See my Resource Post in my icon journal,
fading_coal for Resources, and each icon has individual credits here.
Take, use, enjoy, but please credit (and comments are cool too). :-)
One of the images behind the cut might be considered moderately not-work-friendly, but it did appear on prime time TV. :-)
If I could, I would have added the following to the tags: T.S. Eliot, battlestar galactica, btvs
Teasers:
1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)
Quotes: 1) T. S. Eliot, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock." 2) William Shakespeare, Sonnet 73. 3) Alfred, Lord Tennyson, "Ulysses." 4) Neil Gaiman, The Sandman: The Doll's House. 5) and 6) Gaiman, The Sandman: The Kindly Ones. 7) Gaiman, The Sandman: Season of Mists.
Feel free to give me a yell if you want me to blather about the match b/t quote and image in any particular icon(s). :-)
