So, I've belonged to this community forever (since the day it was created, I believe), but I don't think I've posted any icons here. I really should make more book-themed icons. But anyway, I decided that it was about time I posted, so I put together all my miscellaneous book icons, and here they are:

Ooh, could you upload it in a different format? I can only save it as a .bitmap or a .art on my pc, and lj only accepts .jpeg and .gif files for icons. Thanks

That is a .jpeg. Sometimes my computer does this crazy thing where all images are bitmap. Try again, and if it still doesn't save, try clearing your browser's temporary internet files. That usually does the job. If you still can't save it, I could probably e-mail it to you, or some such.

Um. The only thing I think of that could possibly be the problem is that your computer was being an ass when you saved them and it saved them as bitmap images. Try saving them again, and be sure to check the file extension. They should all be .jpeg's. Then try again. If they're saved as .jpeg's, then I really have no clue how to help you.

Okay thanks so much - so when I right click on the icon, go to Save-As, then type in say "image.jpeg" ? Thanks

...Sort of. When you go to "save as", check the bottom...thing. Below where you type the filename. It should say in there what type of file it is. If it says ".jpeg", then you're okay. If it says "bitmap", then you need to clear the temporary internet files from your browser. If you need help with that, let me know.

Okay, when I type in the file name, there are two listings in that scroll bar (.bmp and .art) How should I adjust? Thanks!

Okay, that means you're computer's being a horrible little crap. You need to get rid of your temporary internet files. If you're using internet explorer, you click "tools", then "internet options", then click "delete files" under the temporary internet files category. Then you'll need to close your browser, open it again, and try saving the icons again. Sometimes even that doesn't work, though. Personally, I'd give up then, but if you're really desperate for my icons, you could try clearing your history (in the same place that you deleted the files), or restarting your computer. For me, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Computers are idiots. :(

Okay, I'll do that - hopefully it won't be a problem. I'm sorry for all the questions, but I need to ask one more. Ok, I want people who are not friends, when accessing my site, to see a friends only banner on my main page. How do I do it, do I need an override? And also can you recommend some good NON-ANIME FO banners? THANK YOU SO SO MUCH

I don't know of any friends only banners - sorry. :(

But, the way most people do friends only banners is to just put the banner in an unlocked entry, then date the entry like ten years in the future. That way, it will always be at the top of your journal, and it will be visible to non-friends.
