Kirby drew it, but it's Pterry's intellectual property. In any case, the point I was trying to make (apparently unsuccessfully) is that anyone who uses it should not give me credit, as I created neither the base nor the text.
I get your point. I agree that credit should be given where it's due, but in the case of drawings/paintings based on a novel/play I think the credit should go the person who made the picture. For instance, if I were to make an icon out of this painting I think it's logical to credit John Everett Millais rather than William Shakespeare.
