I come bearing icons!

Four Harry Potter, two Narnia, one lazily done HDM, and a handful of Discworld from where Mister Calendar Page met Mister Scanner. I have more HP ones, but they're all film ones and that feels sort of like cheating. But Discworld has a smaller fandom so anything goes!

HDM:

Narnia:

HP:

Discworld:

Credit would be nice and muchly appreciated.

Expect more later, I feel inspired :)

I actually don't object to film icons based off of books. I just prefer the other sort :)

But if that's what you have, so long as you warn us all, I'm fine.

*stares at the narnia ones* I want one... but I don't know which one. Dangit!

Oh. Oh. I want... so much...

With all credit and bows going in your direction, would you mind if I took the great big fish one and the men in saffron one? I lust for both... lovely job on all of them, of course.

(I didn't realize my nakedness until I looked into a closet full-to-bursting with clothes.)

Ahh, HDM.

And though I don't much care for HP in general, the phoenix one is verra mesmerizing. I can't stop watching it..

The new day is a great big fish! I love it!
...Not taking it, but still. Brilliant work. The world always needs more Discworld icons.

I do hope that there will be icons for ACTUAL literature eventually.

Like.. Grapes of Wrath? I can just see it--some bum getting a drink of milk.. Seriously, shoo, if you don't like our books.

Maybe you should make some and submit them.

I would...if I actually knew how to make them. You know, that’s the reason I joined to begin with.

I wasn't insulting, I just don't find them solid pieces of literature, I don't think they contributed to any of the stigmas that I strive for in a novel or novella.

I was referring to the movie more so than the book, I almost found the film better. I haven’t read vampire erotica since middle school. Heh.

I also doubt you can justify that comment compared to my taste in books. Especially after reading my user profile. There's many respectable authors there…you know, one's that don't burrow major concepts in order to create a major franchise. *coughharrypottercough* I think you should look into that more, before you insinuate the quality (yes, it’s poor) of Anne Rice’s work. At least it’s her own, which is more than the Harry Potter woman can say.

Personally, I'm more inclined to call Discworld 'actual literature' than I am Dickens. It's all a matter of taste.

You're allowed to make requests. If there's an icon you want, you can ask for it. So if you have a specific piece of literature in mind, please feel free to make a post saying "I want an icon like this!".

However, I *will* ask you not to insult other people's choice in books. Which means that if the only thing you can say is "I wish this were based on real literature", you shouldn't post at all. Different people have different ideas as to what constitutes real literature. For some people, only War and Peace will do. Others think that if they can't stomach it, it doesn't count, still others think that if they CAN read it, it doesn't count, and then there's those who will accept just about anything.

I love your Discworld icons, and I now worship and adore you.

*beats her computer for being evil and refusing to save*

If I swear to honor, credit, and sacrifice small and annoying children in your honor, can I convince you to e-mail the Discworld icons to fullmetal_the_cute @ yahoo.com?
