Hi! I'm new to the community, and by way of introduction I present a set of icons with quotes from the wonderful parody history book 1066 and All That, by W.C. Sellar and R.J. Yeatman. Feel free to gack them; comment and/or credit would be much appreciated. :)

I understand that previewing one's icons is the Done Thing, so:

Since it's not always obvious who the people in the icons are unless you're a serious English history geek: #3, though this may be obvious, is Richard I; #7 is Edward II; #12 is Henry VI, #13 is Mary Queen of Scots, and #14 is Charles II. The rest are pretty self-evident. :)

Curses! That's one of those books I've been meaning to read for some time, but always forget about the moment I enter the bookstore. Lovely icons, by the way. :)

Those are fantastic! It's one of my favourite books - inspired choice for icons, there.

Love the icons. History geekery is not nearly widespread enough. Taking 2, 5, 8, 10, and 11.

I took the one about the Bruce and the spider. And I ADORE that book - first read it when I was ten, and I'm now 45...:)

Brilliant!!! I'm so glad you decided to iconise '1066' - it's hilarious! Snagged #11, thanks, and may well be back for more. Will credit of course. Great work!

*claps* I spent years looking for that book, finally bought it in the UK several years back. Great fun. Snagged #8 for the moment, may come back for more, and will definitely credit if/when used!
