William Blake icons + two Hamlet
Sep. 8th, 2005 12:00 pmWhat's worse, crossposting or linking to a different community?
I tend to dislike linking, so I'm choosing to crosspost these to my community,
obsessiveicons. Apologies to anyone who sees it twice. At least I'm not posting them one right after the other? And I'll give different introduction text and everything? And you guys get two icons that I won't be posting on OI? This must make up for the evils of xposting.
I really, really disliked William Blake's work the first several times I read it. My standard way to become fonder of anything is to either write about it or make icons of it. Writing about Blake was too close to schoolwork, so icons it is! All but one of these are from The Marriage of Heaven and Hell, specifically "The Proverbs of Hell". The one that isn't is from Songs of Innocence and Experience. None of Blake artwork is used, as the only source I could find for it had strict rules on usage. The bases are equally from OI,
skellicons and ones I made myself with pictures from Getty. The bases for the last two are from
disappearicons.
As a bonus, there are two text-only quotes from Hamlet, because I just reread it and have been saying these in my head all week.
Credit is nice, but totally optional. What I WOULD like are comments telling me which you're taking. You can identify the icons by filename, phrase, placement in the post, description... as long as you let me know.
