Is there a *reason* I can't just search for a particular school?

Anyway, I'm adding fictional schools to our list here at [livejournal.com profile] book_icons. I've already got Unseen University and Stoneybrook Middle School. As soon as I find Hogwarts, I'm adding that too.

Anybody got any other schools to add?

They're accepting a limited number of fictional schools, so don't go hog-wild about adding your fake school to the list, but if you have real schools to add to the directory, go ahead. And, uh, suggest book schools for me here. Thanks.

Edit: If you want me to list a school, I need the School Directory link to the school in question.

What about Wayside? (Was that the name of it? Sideways stories from Wayside school - I loved those very strange books as a child.)

Found it!

This is too awesome... too bad we are limited to schools on earth and in real countries, though.

I was thinking about adding the Devon School, from A Separate Peace, but I can't remember what town it was supposed to have been in -- was the town called Devon, too?

Anyways. The list of schools for New Hampshire is here (http://www.livejournal.com/schools/?ctc=US&sc=NH), in case someone knows and wants to add it.

Howabout the Enid Blyton schools such as Malory Towers and St Clare's? And The Chalet School (from the books by Elinor M. Brent-Dyer) and Trebizon (from the books by Anne Digby)?

I tried adding the Marcia Blaine School for Girls from Muriel Spark's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, but it never showed up (Edinburgh, Scotland, incidentally).

How about the "wizarding" school in Roke in Le Guin's Earthsea books? I can't remember if it had a special name...

How about The Collegium- you know, as in Herald, Healer, and Bardic- from the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey? It's not on this world, though, so no idea where it would go.

It's a tad more pedestrian, but how about Kinsey Millhone's alma mater, Santa Theresa High in Santa Theresa, California?
