Just out of curiousity: am I the only one who's read C. Funke's Inkheart? I thought maybe someone might have made some icons of it. Excellent book, really.

It's this really clever book about a man who can read characters out of books. His first time reading, three bad guys from the story come out, and his wife goes in.
It's hard to explain, but it's really good if you're into adventure/fantasy.

Actually, I just finished that book... It was really good. *nod nod* But... I don't have any icons. lol. And even if I didn't you wouldn't want them. I only have MS Paint. *shudder*

Hehe. Well, I'm not a pyro (unless burning SAT practice books at the end of last year counts... *shifty eyes*) but Dustfinger is my favorite character too. I dunno why, really, but I love him. I like Mo too, but not quite as much as Dustfinger.

I began "Inkheart," just as I began Funke's first book, but the styles of both of them bothered me. I would have to look at the books again to be able to pinpoint exactly what it was about the author's style that I didn't like, but whatever the reason, I couldn't finish either book. Not my taste, I suppose.

No! Actually, well, I haven't read it all the way through. I don't love it, but I quite enjoy it while I'm reading it. I really really really loved The Thief Lord (uh, see LJ name :/) but on trying to re-read it lately, I don't know. The magic seems to have gone! I think it's like the commenter above me said, there's something about her style that just doesn't quite work. I suspect it's the fact that it's translated to English, but yeah. It's a shame.
