Oh my god I looove The da Quirm Code!!!!1 It's like, my favorite book ever!!!1 I don't care what anyone sez, the writing is good and the ending doesn't sux!!!1

*Laughs* Dan Brown's prose does suck, and the characters are dreadful (except Silas, the token well-written character) but the story is mysteriously gripping. I love it, but I don't know why o_O

I liked the story, but the ending ruined it for me. For a long time I still told people it was worth reading, but my opinion of it slowly devolved in my mind as time went by. I haven't even been able to bring myself to go see it.

But I adore da Vinci so everytime I see one of those, "If you liked The Da Vinci Code" stands in a bookstore I have to check it out, because sometimes they have interesting stuff about da Vinci himself.

It's quite a quandary.

I didn't mind the ending much... The Sophie thing was a bit shite and rather predictable though. Could have lived without that. But at least it didn't end on shagging, like Angels and Demons. Having said that, there were no death-defying leaps from helicopters either, which was a shame.

The film's not bad. See it for Paul Bettany and Ian McKellen if nothing else. Brilliant actors.

Hmm, a good question. The cinema atmosphere might add to the enjoyment, but I think it's out on dvd (in the UK at least) in October, so that isn't long to wait.
