Random kid's-book-based icons, made more for fun or the project than anything else. If you use them credit is nice, but I'd prefer some constructive criticism.

Clive Barker's Abarat:

Melina Marchetta's Looking for Alibrandi:

Diane Duane's Young Wizards Series:

Uptown Local:

Also, I'm trying to practice icon-making and I'm running out of ideas. If anyone has any requests/suggestions for SIMPLE-ish book-based icons, PLEASE tell. :D My goal is one icon for every day of the week (groan).

These are all nice and simple.

Icon ideas. Hm. Anything involving Dr. Seuss is good for me, as it was just his birthday.

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, Madeline, Ferdinand the Bull. Just suggestions :-)

Good ones!

Ooh, Looking for Alibrandi! I didn't know anyone else had read it :-) I love that book. I think Madeleine would be great, or something like Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. And Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) has great pictures...and...older Little Golden books like The Pokey Little Puppy.

Curious George is always good.... especially if you can snag the superfunny pictures of him smoking and sniffing ether.

I second the little prince! I adore that book. Lovelovelove. *hugs it* Anything Chris Van Alsberg (sp?) is also good.

Nice icons, by the way. I am very tempted by the Diane Duane one, but I don't think I'd have a chance to use it much.

Yay, Abarat! *snags*
As far as constructive criticism goes, it might have been even cooler with the actual Abarat logo on, although that would've been harder to blend in with the background, so... yes. Great job!

Old Grimm's Fairy Tales, The Velveteen Rabbit, The Waterbabies (http://www.luikerwaal.com/newframe_uk.htm?/waterbabies_uk.htm)
and I would suggest Goodnight Moon, but after a 1 and a half hour search, I could only find one picture!
Charlotte's Web...hope that helps!
