[identity profile] brighteyedcat.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] book_icons
My book community, [livejournal.com profile] del_libro will be reading 1984 by George Orwell this month. Would any of you be willing to make me an icon? If interested, post it in the comment box. :) Thanks!

We have a 1984 memories section, which I'm far too lazy to link to right now, but it has more than one post in it.

What types of books do you read in it? I am trying to read through all of the classics right now. I'm almost finished with Moby Dick and it's fasinating. Is 1984 any good? I'm not sure so i'll risk looking dumb and ask if it's a classic. I am trying to find a good list of "classic's" but there is no real defined line. I tell you what I have read/intend on reading soon.

Moby Dick (Almost done reading it!)
The Scarlet Letter (already read it and it was GREAT!)
The Great Gatsby (Read it but did'nt quite understand it)
Alice in Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass (read and loved it again)
The Thorn Birds (Read it, AWESOME!)
Gone With The Wind (Read it, better than the movie)
Paul Bunyan (Not yet read)
Jane Eyre (Not yet read, but next on my list)
And The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (Not yet read, but next after Jane Eyre)

Oooooh, intereesting community *join*

I'm taking english literature A level, and one of our themes is Utopian and Distopian society, and the control of the populace So this could prove to be some pretty good wider reading.
