As you guys probably already know, we lost two great fantasy authors this month: Madeleine L'Engle last week, and Robert Jordan last night. I . . . really don't know how to express how L'Engle affected my life, or how hard it is to know that Jordan died with his life's work incomplete.

So here are some icons, from a variety of poets, not to mention L'Engle and Jordan's works.

Henry Vaughn, "The World"
1. 2.

Dylan Thomas, "And Death Shall Have No Dominion"
1. 2.

Edna St. Vincent Millay, "Dirge Without Music"
1. 2. 3. 4.

Madeleine L'Engle
1. 2.
Icons of Patrick's Rune can be found here, too.

Robert Jordan
1. 2.

Mary Oliver, "When Death Comes"
1. 2.

There may be more to come; if you've got a particular piece of poetry or a line that you'd like to see iconned, feel free to suggest it and I'll see what I can do.

Oh! Usual rules apply: Comments and credit are nice.

Madeleine L'Engle had a pround influence on my life as well; the world is a little darker without her in it, but she left behind much light through her stories.

Thanks for your tributes. The icons are lovely.

I had no idea that Madeleine L'Engle died. Thanks for letting me know. That is a real shame. The world lost a great talent.

Beautiful! I'm snagging both Robert Jordan icons and the first Madeline L'Engle icon. RIP Ms. L'Engle. You'll be missed.

Can I get "I have nothing new to say about death", please?

(Sherman Alexie, "Inside Dachau".)

These are wonderful as always and I've snagged the Jordan & Oliver ones, but some of the others--while I'd love to snag them--the text is kinda hard to read. D'ye think you could redo them with a clearer small font, maybe...? Particularly the Vaughn ones, and L'Engle 2? (I made that one out after staring for a while, but it took some time)

(apologies for the criticism; though hopefully you know by now I love your work, and only ask because I'd love to use the other icons too but don't think they're legible enough...)
