Comments are brilliant, & credit is much appreciated. Also, I think I flip-flopped the LJ-cut. If so, it'll be fixed shortly. Peace!

Looking-Glass Icons
Jun. 19th, 2007 10:25 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
EDIT: EDIT: I was wrong, as anyone who's seen the originals knows, these aren't Tenniel, they're Barry Moser. That'll teach me to scan things without looking at what they are.
Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations to "Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There," from the Pennyroyal Alice. Eight icons, from chapters I and II (Looking-Glass House and The Garden of Live Flowers.) Want, take, have; credit is nice but not absolutely necessary.

These are the updated versions of two of the icons posted here recently. All I really changed was the timing, to make them a bit more legible.

Use them; have fun; credit me in the userpic comments.

I'm very nervous. They're not great, but I thought they were slightly interesting. Included are:
About a Boy
Where the Wild Things Are
Alice in Wonderland
Harry Potter (various books, with fan-art bases by Marta)
andLiverpool Fantasy
( Man's best friend outside a dog is a book. And inside a dog, it's too dark to read! )

Got a couple more. Before I post these, I better mention that I have been away from this comp (not by choice) for some time, and as a consequence I'm not 100% sure which of these icons I've posted at other times. I think these are all new, but fi they're not, shout at me and I'll take them down.
I have four YW, two HP and one Alice in Wonderland.

These are from the illustrations for "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass."
(I'm almost entirely sure) John Tenniel was the creator of the illustrations for the original published versions of both, and his are the ones I used, although both stories have been re-illustrated manymanymany times.
Please comment to tell me which ones you take-- and if you do any customization, I'd love to see it.
( One thing was certain... )
